Coast Guard Dixieland Band to Perform at The Yards Park

The Coast Guard Dixieland Band will present an evening of traditional jazz beginning at 6:30 p.m. on June 13 at The Yards Park in SE Washington, D.C.

Formed in 1970 and led by Chief Musician Mark McCormick, the Dixieland Band has performed for audiences across the country and the world. They recently entertained countless thousands in New York City’s Times Square and played an intimate set at Preservation Hall in New Orleans. Other notable performance venues include the Sacramento, SunValley (Idaho), and Galaxy (Milwaukee) Jazz Festivals.

The band members include Chief Musician Mark McCormick, leader and bass, Musicians First Class Tom Brown, trumpet, Cedric Mayfield, clarinet, Sean Nelson, trombone and Nathan Lassell, drums.
