The program delivers training, onsite displays and follow-up education to the boating community.

The display contains a watercraft simulator that resembles a center console boat with a variety of navigational programs including weather patterns and various water obstacles that mariner’s can use to test their boating skills. The safety aid consists of a trailerable unit showcasing the Wear-It life jacket initiative.

“The BAT-PAK will inform our customers, the recreational boating community, that most importantly ‘life jackets save lives,'” said Bruce Wright, the Coast Guard District Seven recreational boating safety specialist. “Additionally, the BAT-PAK displays some of the most advanced safety equipment available to mariners today.”
