Coast Guard Cutter Tern to be open for public tours during Giants game Friday

11th Coast Guard District NewsSAN FRANCISCO – As part of the San Francisco Giants annual Family Safety Festival, the Coast Guard Cutter Tern will be open for tours on Friday, July 22 at the San Francisco Giants AT&T park. The public will have an opportunity to tour the cutter and meet its crew.

The Tern is an 87-foot Coastal Patrol Boat homeported at Yerba Buena Island in San Francisco.

Tern’s open house is part of many other activities included for the San Francisco Giants annual Family Safety Festival/Law Enforcement Appreciation Night. Prior to the Giants game against the Milwaukee Brewers, exbihits by local, state, and federal Law enforcement agencies, and emergency services will showcase safety of our roadways, highways, and waterways.

The cutter, which will be moored at McCovey Cove Ferry Piers, will be open for public tours from 4 to 6 p.m., just outside AT&T Park in O’Doul Plaza (located off Third Street).
