JUNEAU, Alaska – The Coast Guard Cutter Naushon will hold a change of command ceremony in the Crow’s Nest at Coast Guard Station Ketchikan where Lt. Jeffery J. Rasnake will relieve Lt. Andrew J. Hoag as commanding officer in a formal ceremony Friday at 10 a.m.
Hoag has commanded the Naushon the since March 2008. Hoag’s next assignment will be in the Response-Boat Medium Project Office in Kent, Wash., working on procurement of new Coast Guard small boats.
Rasnake is arriving from Coast Guard Cutter Rush, homeported in Honolulu, where he served as operations officer. His prior assignments include deck watch officer aboard Coast Guard Cutter Sweetbrier, executive officer for Coast Guard Cutter Morro Bay, domestic icebreaking program manager in the office of aids to navigation and a contracting program manager for the deputy commandant for operations at Coast Guard Headquarters.
Rasnake’s military decorations include two Coast Guard Commendation Medals, two Coast Guard Achievement Medals and multiple other personal and unit awards.
Rasnake is joined in Ketchikan by his wife Sarah and son Quenton.
