Coast Guard Cutter Escanaba returns from dry-dock

BOSTON– The Coast Guard Cutter Escanaba, a 270-foot medium endurance cutter homeported in Boston, returned from drydock on Tuesday.

The Escanaba was in drydock in Staten Island, N.Y., since early September where it received routine maintenance and upgrades that will help to support its multi-mission capabilities in upcoming patrols.

While Escanaba was on the blocks, its crew worked closely with the yard workers to ensure that all items on the agenda were completed in a timely manner, resulting in meeting the scheduled release from the yards.

In addition to working at the yards, Escanaba’s crew logged over 230 hours of community service, working with local agencies such as soup kitchens and a local maritime museum.

The Escanaba will remain at homeport for a brief period of time before getting underway again to patrol the New England waters.
