ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Crewmembers from the Coast Guard Cutter Crocodile medically evacuated a 40-year-old man approximately 13 miles west of Anna Maria Island Friday.
The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Crocodile received a call at approximately 9:15 a.m. from the crew of the 62-foot commercial fishing vessel Nemo’s Bounty, homeported in Ruskin, Fla., reporting that Mitchell Larson, 40, hometown unknown, was ill and they were requesting a medical evacuation.
The Crocodile’s crew safely transported Larson to Coast Guard Station Cortez, Fla., where he was taken to Blake Memorial Hospital by local EMS.
The Crocodile is an 87-foot patrol boat homeported in St. Petersburg.
