PETERSBURG, Alaska — Lt. Kathryn R. Cyr will relieve Lt. Cmdr. Ruben E. Boudreaux as commanding officer of the Coast Guard Cutter Anacapa during a formal ceremony at the Sons of Norway Hall, at 23 S. Sing Lee Alley in Petersburg, Monday at noon.
Boudreaux has commanded the Anacapa since July 2011. Boudreaux’s next assignment will be attending the Joint Military Attaché School at the Defense Intelligence Agency with a follow on tour as a Coast Guard attaché in Malta.
Cyr is reporting to the Anacapa from duties as the operations officer aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Dependable in Cape May, N.J. Her previous assignments include serving as the intelligence collection manager for Coast Guard 17th District in Juneau and as a deck watch officer on the Coast Guard Cutter Reliance in Portsmouth, N.H.
Cyr is a 2006 graduate of the Coast Guard Academy, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in operations research and computer analysis.
Her personal awards include the Coast Guard Commendation Medal with operational distinguishing device, the Coast Guard Achievement Medal, and the Commandant’s Letter of Commendation with operational distinguishing device amongst many others.
