San Francisco Fleet Week 2010 (SFFW 10) is held to honor the dedication to duty and sacrifices of the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, and to conduct and offer disaster preparedness training. It is also a great opportunity for the American public to meet their Coast Guard, Navy and Marine Corps teams and to experience the best of the sea services. More than 3,000 Coast Guardsmen, Sailors and Marines are currently scheduled to participate in SFFW 10. In addition, this occasion allows us to showcase our personnel, equipment, technology and capabilities while highlighting the history we share with San Francisco.

The Active’s missions include Homeland Security, law enforcement and search and rescue. It patrols the U.S. exclusive economic zone to enforce federal fisheries and vessel safety laws. Active also enforces laws regarding illegal immigration. Active patrols the Northern Pacific Ocean, from the stormy Alaskan seas to the warm waters off Central America, and west to Hawaii.
