Coast Guard crews suspend search for 2 near Salem, N.J.

SALEM, N.J. – The Coast Guard suspended its search Tuesday for two men missing near the Route 49 Bridge in the Salem River near Salem.

The Coast Guard received a call at 2:10 a.m. from a member of Salem County emergency dispatch reporting two people missing who were fishing from the Route 49 Bridge in the Salem River.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Salem and a rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., searched for the men.
