Coast Guard crews, local authorities searching for 2 near Salem, N.J.

SALEM, N.J. – The Coast Guard and local authorities are searching Tuesday for two men missing near the Route 49 Bridge in the Salem River near Salem.

Missing are Gerald Lewis, 33, and Larry Preston, 37, both of Salem.

The Coast Guard received a call at 2:10 a.m. from a member of Salem County emergency dispatch reporting two people missing who were fishing from the Route 49 Bridge in the Salem River.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Salem, a rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., members of the Salem and Pensville Police Departments and the New Jersey State Police are searching for the men.
