Coast Guard crew rescues man near Hammonton, N.J.

HAMMONTON, N.J. – The Coast Guard rescued a 53-year-old man who was lost in the woods near Hammonton Saturday.

The Coast Guard received a call at 6:10 p.m. from a member of the Egg Harbor City Police Department asking for assistance in rescuing a man lost in the woods.

A New Jersey State Police helicopter crew located the man, but were unable to hoist him. A rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., arrived on scene and hoisted the man aboard their helicopter.

The man was transported to the Atlantic City International Airport in Pomona, N.J., and transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel.

No injuries were reported.
