Coast Guard crew rescues 6 off coast of Cape May, N.J.

CAPE MAY, N.J. – The Coast Guard rescued six people Saturday aboard a disabled 55-foot boat 50 miles off the coast of Cape May.

The Coast Guard received a call at 2 p.m. from a crewmember aboard the William Lee reporting they were having engine trouble and needed assistance.

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Legare, home ported in Portsmouth, Va., arrived on scene and is towing the boat and crew to Delaware Bay.
