Coast Guard crew rescues 3 near Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA – The Coast Guard rescued three people after the 20-foot boat they were aboard became disabled in the Delaware River one mile south of the Walt Whitman Bridge.

The Coast Guard received a call at 9:49 p.m. from a member of the Glouster Township Police Department reporting the boat and its crew struck a log in the river and were disabled.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Philadelphia arrived on scene and took the boat and its crew in tow and moored them safely at Philadelphia Marina.

No injuries were reported.
