Coast Guard crew medevacs man from Delaware River

PHILADELPHIA – The Coast Guard medevaced a 23-year-old man Tuesday who was injured after falling off a jet ski in the Delaware River near the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal.

The Coast Guard received a call at 5:20 p.m. from a crewman aboard the Paradyne reporting they pulled the man from the water. The man had sustained a head injury after hitting the wake from another boat.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Salem, N.J., arrived on scene and transported the man to Summit North Marina in Delaware where he was transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel for treatment.
