Coast Guard Crew Medevacs Injured from Cruise Ship

NEW ORLEANS – At approximately 12:00 p.m. the Coast Guard received a request to medevac a 74-year-old man who had sustained an injury aboard the cruise ship Carnival Conquest.

A HH-65C rescue helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans was launched to medevac the man from the cruise ship, which was approximately 230 miles south of Grand Isle, La. in route to Galveston, Texas.

The injured man was taken to East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, La.
