PHILADELPHIA – The Coast Guard medevaced a 19-year-old woman from aboard the Coast Guard Cutter William Tate near Philadelphia Monday.
The Coast Guard received a call at 3:44 p.m. from a crewmember aboard the William Tate, homeported in Philadelphia, reporting a female crewmember was experiencing lower abdominal pain.
A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Philadelphia arrived on scene and transferred the woman aboard their boat and transported her to Delaware City Marina in Delaware City, Del., where she was transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel.
The woman was transported to Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, Del., for treatment.
