Coast Guard crew medevacs 1 near Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA – The Coast Guard medevaced a 52-year-old male Wednesday south of the Betsy Ross Bridge after he was experiencing chest pains.

The Coast Guard received a call at 10:09 p.m. from a crew member aboard the Big Kahuna reporting he was experiencing heart palpitations.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Philadelphia arrived on scene and transported the man to Frankford Arsenal in Northeast Philadelphia where he was transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel. The man was taken to Aria Hospital in Philadelphia.
