Coast Guard crew medevacs 1 near Atlantic City, N.J.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Coast Guard medevaced a 60-year-old male Wednesday from a cruise ship 60 miles east of here.

The Coast Guard received a call at 11:14 p.m. from a crewmember aboard the Carnival Miracle requesting the man be medevaced. The crewmember was unsure of the condition of the man but reported he thought he was suffering from a heart attack or stroke and needed medical assistance.

A rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City arrived on scene and transported the man to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus for treatment.

The man was reported in stable condition.
