Coast Guard crew assists 2 near Cape May, N.J.

CAPE MAY, N.J. – The Coast Guard assisted two people aboard a disabled 41-foot fishing boat 25 miles east of Cape May Sunday.

The Coast Guard received a call at 11:30 a.m. from a crewmember aboard the Capt. Charlie reporting they lost power to both their engines.

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Finback arrived on scene and took the Capt. Charlie and its crew in tow.

Once near shore, the crew of the Capt. Charlie restored power to the engines and the crew of the Finback released the tow.

The Capt. Charlie and its crew moored at Ottens Harbor in Wildwood, N.J.
