INDIAN RIVER, Del. – The Coast Guard is searching for a missing person Thursday after a Good Samaritian rescued five people when their 18-foot boat capsized five miles east of Indian River Inlet here.
Missing is Bruce Weaver.
The Coast Guard received a call from the Good Samaritan at 5:50 p.m. reporting he located a capsized boat with five people in the water and could not find the last person.
A Coast Guard rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Indian River arrived on scene and transported the five people to Lewes, Del., where emergency medical personnel transferred them to Beebe Medical Center.
A rescue boat crew from Station Indian River, Del., two helicopter rescue crews from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Ibis and a New Jersey State Police helicopter crew are searching for Weaver.
Weaver is reported to be wearing a life jacket.
