Coast Guard Continues to Search for Missing Louisiana Teen

NEW ORLEANS – A Coast Guard rescue helicopter crew from Air Station New Orleans and a 25-foot response boat crew from Marine Safety Unit Morgan City continue searching for a missing teenager on the Intracoastal Waterway near the Highway 24 bridge in Houma, La., today.

The Coast Guard was notified by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office at approximately 6 p.m. yesterday that a 14-year-old went missing while attempting to cross the ICW, and launched a rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans to assist in the search.

The waterway has been closed by the New Orleans Captain of the Port to facilitate the search
