NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard along with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are continuing to search today for William Adams, 47, in Whiskey Canal in the vicinity of Lake Cataouatche and Lake Salvador, southwest of New Orleans.
Personnel from JPSO notified the Coast Guard Friday after receiving a call from Adams’ girlfriend that he had not returned from a trip, which should have taken no more than two hours.
Searching are:
- A HH-65C helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans.
- A fixed-wing aircrew from the Coast Guard Auxilary New Orleans

An HU-25 Falcon jetcrew from Aviation Training Center Mobile, Ala.

A boatcrew from the Jefferson Parish Sherrif’s Office.
- A boatcrew from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
Adams was reportedly aboard a green, 16-foot, flat-bottom fishing boat with no identifying hull markings.
The Coast Guard plans to search throughout the day.
