NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard continues the search today for a missing crewmember from the towing vessel Jeffrey G. on the Mississippi River in the area of Laplace, La.
Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received the initial report at 11:40 p.m. Monday from a crewmember aboard the towing vessel, reporting that Jackson Ragan,18, of Aubrey, Ark., was missing from the vessel just south of LaPlace, La.
A Coast Guard HH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter and crew from Air Station New Orleans and a 41-foot rescue boat and crew from Station New Orleans are searching more than 30 miles of the Mississippi River from mile marker 145 at the Gramercy Bridge to mile marker 110.
