Coast Guard conducts second airlift of day from Nantucket, transports ill man

60 Cape CodBOSTON — The Coast Guard flew a 66-year-old man suffering from chest pains from Nantucket Cottage Hospital to Hyannis Hospital, Saturday.

At about 6:15 p.m., the hospital in Nantucket contacted watchstanders at the First Coast Guard District requesting assistance.

A MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, still in the air from a PREVIOUS CASE, arrived in Nantucket, brought the man and a nurse aboard, and transported them to Hyannis Hospital to ensure the man receives advance medical care.

He was reported to be in stable condition.
