Coast Guard Conducts Multi-Unit Medevac From Container Ship

McKinleyville, CA – The U.S. Coast Guard conducted a medical transport of a 52-year-old male from the container ship Lily Oldendorff late last night.

At approximately 9 p.m. last night Coast Guard Group Humboldt Bay received a call from the container ship Lily Oldendorff requesting assistance from the Coast Guard for a 52-year-old male who suffered a possible heart attack.

The Coast Guard dispatched an HH65 helicopter from both Air Station Humboldt Bay & San Francisco, and a C-130 from Air Station Sacramento.

At approximately 11 p.m. the Humboldt Bay crew arrived on-scene and safely hoisted the man. The San Francisco crew re-fueled and readied itself at Point Arena while the C-130 crew provided aerial cover. Once the Humboldt Bay helicopter landed safely at Point Arena, the man was transported into the awaiting San Francisco helicopter and flown to Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto where his condition is unknown.
