ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The U.S. Coast Guard medically evacuated a 45-year-old male from the Canadian Coast Guard Cutter Griffon at approximately 8:20 p.m. due to lower back pain Saturday.
A Coast Guard Station Rochester 47-foot motor life boat crew and the Cutter Griffon crew established an underway position approximately two nautical miles offshore of Rochester to transfer the crewman to the small boat.
The U.S. Coast Guard Station Rochester crew then transported him to Emergency Medical Services at Station Rochester and he was taken to a local hospital.
