Coast Guard Conducts Early Morning Medevac from Oil Platform

HOUSTON – The Coast Guard is conducting a medevac of a crewman from an oil platform located about 120 miles south southeast of Sabine, Texas.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Sector Houston/Galveston received a call from the crew of platform East Cameron 328 at 4:10 a.m., today requesting help for one of his crewmembers who had a violent reaction to his medication.

Coast Guard Air Station Houston crews launched an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter to conduct the medevac and Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi crews launched an HU-25 Falcon jet to assist.

Early morning weather conditions slightly delayed the launch of both the helicopter and jet.

The oil platform’s position is latitude 28 10.211 North, and longitude 092 41.112 West.
