Coast Guard completes search for two men near Little Brewster Island

BOSTON- The Coast Guard rescued one man and located another unresponsive man near the Boston Harbor Islands this morning.

Coast Guard Sector Boston received notification at around 1:20 a.m., that the fishing vessel Jacquelyn Ann was overdue with two men on board.

The Coast Guard launched boat crews from Station Boston, Station Point Allerton and a rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod. The rescue helicopter crew located one man at around 5:52 a.m., Nov. 15, 2010 on Little Brewster Island. The man was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.

At around 8:00 a.m., the Coast Guard rescue helicopter located the second man and guided the Station Point Allerton rescue crew to the person in the water. He was found unresponsive and taken back to Station Point Allerton where he was transferred to local EMS.

The rescued man told rescue crews that the vessel capsized at around 2:00 p.m., Nov. 14, 2010.

The Jacquelyn Ann left the Wessaguesset Yacht Club in Weymouth at noon Nov. 14, 2010, to retrieve lobster traps near Hull Gut.
