DULUTH, Minn. – The Coast Guard Cutter Alder will commence ice breaking operations in Duluth/ Superior Harbor March 11, 2008.
Ice fisherman, motor vehicle operators and others who use the ice should be aware that ice in the vicinity of the main shipping channels within the harbor will be broken and impassable once icebreaking has commenced. Attempting to approach or cross over areas of ice broken by Alder could result in dangerous or life-threatening situations.
