ST. LOUIS — Coast Guard Commandant Bob Papp presided over the Coast Guard Auxiliary Change of Watch ceremony for Immediate Past National Commodore James Vass Jr. and National Commodore Thomas Mallison in St. Louis Friday.
The Coast Guard Auxiliary Change of Watch is the tradition of passing leadership and authority and occurs every two years.
After the ceremony Adm. Papp presented certificates to the newly elected and appointed Coast Guard Auxiliary commodores and held an all hands meeting with national and regional leaders and members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Also in attendance was Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard Michael Leavitt as well as numerous other Coast Guard leadership.
