MILWAUKEE – In coordination with Earth Day, U.S. Coast Guard men and women in the Milwaukee area will be cleaning up local area beaches, Thursday, stretching from the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center to South Shore Park.
Members from Coast Guard Sector Lake Michigan, Coast Guard Station Milwaukee, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary will participate in the clean up.
The Coast Guard would like to remind the boating public that dumping garbage into Lake Michigan is prohibited by law and encourages all members of the community to not only engage in Earth Day events but also actively participate in earth friendly activities throughout the year.
