JUNEAU, Alaska — The Juneau-area Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association will host the 39th Annual Senior Citizens Holiday Dinner at the Elizabeth Peratovich Hall at 4 p.m., Sunday.
The event, which is open to senior citizens and their care givers, will begin with an hour of entertainment followed by a free dinner at 5 p.m.
“The dinner was first organized in 1974 and has become an annual tradition for the local chiefs,” said David Borg, the Juneau-area CPOA president. “It’s a great way for us to give back to the local community and provide a special evening to the local senior citizens.”
Senior citizens who would like to attend, but need transportation should contact Care-A-Van at 907-463-6194 to make a reservation. Transportation reservations will need to be made by Friday or seniors will be required to use other methods of transportation to get to and from the event.
