Coast Guard BSU Boston commanding officer replaced

1st Coast Guard District NewsBOSTON – The commanding officer of Coast Guard Base Support Unit Boston was temporarily removed from command of the unit Tuesday by Rear Adm. Ronald Rabago, assistant commandant for engineering and logistics, who cited a loss of confidence in the officer’s ability to command.

Capt. Michael Husak is temporarily assigned to the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., pending the results of an administrative investigation.

Cmdr. Tobiah Taylor, BSU Boston executive officer, has assumed temporary command of the unit to ensure continuity of operations until the investigation is complete.

Coast Guard operations in the unit’s area of responsibility have not been impacted.

BSU Boston is responsible for building and grounds maintenance, environmental management, comptroller support, warehousing, base security and industrial support services for all shore units, ships and boats based there.
