DEAL, N.J. – The Coast Guard and members of the Deal Beach Patrol rescued a man and one child from the water after their 20-foot boat capsized approximately one mile off the coast of Deal Tuesday.
Coast Guard watchstanders at Sector Deleware Bay received a call at 3:47 p.m. from a member of Deal 911 dispatch reporting that there was a capsized boat off the coast of Deal.
A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Shark River, N.J., rescued the man and brought two members of Deal Beach Patrol aboard who swam out to assist the man on the capsized boat. Another member of beach patrol rescued the child and transferred the child to awaiting emergency medical personnel on shore.
The rescue boat crew transported the man and the two members of beach patrol to Station Shark River. Emergency medical personnel transported the child to Station Shark River.
There were no injuries reported.
