BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The Coast Guard awarded three good Samaritans the Certificate of Merit at a ceremony at Coast Guard Station Brunswick Friday.
The Coast Guard awarded the Certificate of Merit to Creighton Dukes of Savannah, Ga., Henry Hart of St. Simons Island, Ga., and Mark Livingston of Atlanta for their role in the rescue of two boaters.
The three gentlemen assisted the Coast Guard with the rescue of two boaters who were injured following an allision between a 23-foot pleasure craft and the Jekyll Creek jetties located south of Brunswick July 12.
The Coast Guard Certificate of Merit recognizes significant endeavors by private individuals or groups that display initiative in advancing one or more of the Coast Guard’s missions.
