Coast Guard authorizes Port of Hampton Roads to resume normal operations

5th Coast Guard District NewsPORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Coast Guard Captain of the Port has authorized the Port of Hampton Roads to resume normal operations at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The COTP is working closely with the port industry, Navy, Army Corps of Engineers, NOAA, Virginia Pilot Association and local marine units to minimize risk as the port returns to normalcy.

Mariners are advised to exercise extreme caution when transiting throughout the port due to the possibility of shoaling, debris, and aids to navigation possibly being off station and unreliable.

Report all damaged or inoperable aids to navigation to Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads at 757-638-6641.

Report any pollution to the National Response Center at 800-424-8802.

Report all debris on the water to the Army Corps of Engineers at 757-672-1835.
