SANTA CRUZ ISLAND, Calif. — Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles diverted an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter to Santa Cruz Island at 9:21 a.m. after Vessel Assist Ventura reported three men stranded on Santa Cruz Island beach today.
The helicopter dropped a hand held VHF radio to the men. The men’s vessel was anchored off shore and then drug its anchor one thousand feet farther from shore. Vessel assist is on scene and plans to recover the stranded men and tow the vessel back to Ventura, Calif.
