NEW YORK — Coast Guard assisted a 25-foot pleasure craft taking on water near Sandy Hook, New Jersey, Saturday afternoon.
Coast Guard Sector New York watchstanders initially received the report and diverted a Coast Guard Station Sandy Hook Response Boat Small already underway.
Once on scene, the crew of the Response Boat assisted in dewatering the vessel with a dewatering pump, and then placed the vessel in tow. The pump was able to keep up with the flooding.
The Station Sandy Hook crew was able to tow the vessel to the Atlantic Highlands Marina where a post-SAR boarding was conducted. The Sandy Hook crew inspected the pleasure craft and found no safety violations.
