SEATTLE – The Coast Guard assisted Clallam County responders by medically transporting a woman to a local hospital after her vehicle crashed and fell into the water, near Sequim, Wash., Thursday.
Clallam County responders recovered the woman and contacted Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound requesting assistance with the medical transport at 9:37 a.m.
A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew, from Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles, Wash., was dispatched to assist. The helicopter crew recovered the woman, who was prepared for transport by local Emergency Medical Service paramedics, and transported her to Olympic Memorial Hospital.
“We continue to work well with our federal, state and local response agencies,” said Capt. Scott Ferguson, Commanding Officer of Sector Puget Sound. “This inter-agency response is an example of the great partnerships Puget Sound response agencies maintain with each other.”
