Coast Guard assists 3 adults, 2 children on disabled vessel near Galveston, Texas

HOUSTON — The Coast Guard assisted three adults and two children aboard a disabled vessel approximately 35 miles offshore from Galveston, Texas, Friday.

Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a report of a disabled pleasure craft with three adults and two children aboard. Watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast and diverted the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Sea Horse.

Once on scene, the crew of the cutter Sea Horse placed the vessel in tow. A Coast Guard Station Galveston 29-foot Response Boat-Small relieved the tow at the Galveston jetties and transported the vessel to the Galveston Yacht Basin.

There were no reported injuries.

Weather on scene was reported as 2-foot seas with 3 mph winds.
