NEW YORK — A Coast Guard boatcrew assisted two mariners aboard a grounded sailboat in vicinity of the Glen Cove Marina in Glen Cove, New York, Sunday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New York received a report from a commercial salvage company reporting an aground 43-foot white sailing vessel with two people aboard.
Sector New York watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast and diverted a 29-foot Response Boat-Small (RBS) boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Kings Point.
Once on scene, the RBS boatcrew safely assisted the mariners aboard the RBS and transported them to the Glen Cove Marina.
The sailing vessel was later refloated during high tide.
No injuries or pollution were reported.
