Coast Guard assisting with search for man missing after fall from bridge

MIAMI – Search and rescue crews from Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet, Fla., are assisting in the search for a 24-year-old male after he reportedly jumped from the Southern Boulevard Bridge in Palm Beach, Fla., Sunday.

Palm Beach Police Department officials requested assistance with search efforts around 5:46 p.m Sunday after receiving a report that Amirga Morales disappeared from the Southern Boulevard Bridge. According to reports, Morales was fishing off the bridge and jumped in to untangle his fishing line.

Searching are:

  • An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Miami.
  • A Coast Guard 33-foot rescue boat crew from Station Lake Worth Inlet.
  • Deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Officers from the Palm Beach Police Department.
  • West Palm Beach Fire Rescue crews.
  • A Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission boat crew.
