Coast Guard announces notice of proposed rulemaking for the Hood Canal floating drawbridge

13th Coast Guard District NewsSEATTLE — The U.S. Coast Guard announced Thursday publication in the Federal Register of a notice of proposed rulemaking for the Hood Canal floating drawbridge near Port Gamble, Wash.

The NPRM proposes to modify the drawbridge operating regulation for the Hood Canal floating drawbridge near Port Gamble. This modification would relieve heavy rush hour road traffic on State Routes 3 and 104, by allowing the draws of the bridge to not open for maritime traffic during afternoon rush hour in the summer months.

Interested parties can review the proposal, and submit comments and related materials at, docket number USCG-2012-0074.  All comments are posted without change. All comments and related material must be received on or before April 16, 2012.
