Coast Guard and partner agencies responding to a fuel spill

MIAMI — The Coast Guard and its partners are responding to a fuel spill in North Miami.

At approximately noon Thursday, a fuel truck, owned and operated by Fuel Tech Miami, spilled approximately 500 gallons of gasoline while refueling a personal recreational vessel in the vicinity of North Bay Village, at 260 North Shoreline Drive in Miami. The majority of the fuel reportedly spilled into the storm drain. There is no report of any fuel in the Intercoastal Waterway at this time.

The Coast Guard is working with local and state partners including Miami Dade Fire Rescue, Miami Dade Police Department, Miami Dade Public Works Department and the Florida Department of Environmental Response Management.
