Coast Guard and local authorities searching for 2 men in Patapsco River near Port Covington

BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard and local authorities are searching for a 27-year-old man and a 24-year-old man Sunday after they went missing in the Patapsco River near Port Covington.

A member of the Baltimore City Police Department contacted Coast Guard Sector Baltimore watchstanders at approximately 5:15 a.m., reporting three people jumped into the river. The report was received after a 24-year-old woman emerged from the water and reported the other two missing.

A boatcrew aboard a 25-foot Response Boat – Small from Coast Guard Station Curtis Bay, Md., a Baltimore City Police marine unit boatcrew, a Maryland State Police helicopter aircrew and Baltimore City Police divers are assisting in the search.
