Coast Guard and local authorities search for 1 near Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA – The Coast Guard, New Jersey State Police, Gloucester County Fire and Rescue, Philadelphia Marine Police and the Philadelphia Fire Department are searching for a 44-year-old woman Sunday who is missing in the Delaware River near No Name Island near Philadelphia.

The Coast Guard received a report at 5:33 p.m. from a member of the Philadelphia Fire Department reporting a 44-year-old woman is missing after she fell into the water from an inflatable raft anchored in the Delaware River.

The woman is reported to not be wearing a life jacket.

A rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., a rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Philadelphia, members of the Philadelphia Marine Police, Gloucester County Fire and Rescue and the Philadelphia Fire Department are searching for the woman.

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Cleat, homeported in Philadelphia, is en route to assist in the search.
