HONOLULU — Coast Guard rescue aircrews hoisted an ill man from a motor vessel approximately 100 miles northeast of Hilo Tuesday.
A Coast Guard flight mechanic from Air Station Barbers Point hoisted the 42-year-old man from the Panamanian-flagged motor vessel Maja Vestida. The ill man, suffering from severe stomach pain, vomiting, and breathing problems, was transferred to the Queens Medical Center on Oahu.
The fishing vessel’s agent contacted Coast Guard rescue coordinators at about 3 p.m. Saturday and reported the distress.
