Coast Guard Airlifts Injured Logger

SEATTLE – The Coast Guard airlifted a logger after he was injured today in a rural area near Curtis, Wash.

Coast Guard Air Station Astoria, Ore. received a call at 2:38 p.m., from the Washington Department of Emergency Management requesting assistance for the 28-year old injured logger.

Air Station Astoria launched an HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter at 3:02 p.m. and hoisted the injured man from the scene of the accident minutes later.

The helicopter crew transported the logger to the Oregon Health Services University Hospital in Portland, Ore. for further treatment.
