Coast Guard aircrew medevacs 1 near Ocean City, Md.

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Coast Guard medevaced a 61-year-old man from a fishing boat 60 miles east of Ocean City on Monday.

The Coast Guard received a call at 2:15 p.m. from a crewmember aboard the Emily Brook reporting a crewman was experiencing shortness of breath due to asthma and needed medical assistance.

A rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., arrived on scene and hoisted the man aboard their helicopter.

The man was transported to Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md., for treatment.
