Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi assisting local police department in search for missing motorist

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi is currently assisting the Corpus Christi Police Department in the seach for a driver from a vehicle that reportedly entered Oso Creek, Monday.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi received a call from the Corpus Christi Police Department at approximately 6:20 a.m. reporting that a man in a silver Ford Focus entered Oso Creek while driving on Weber Road. A good Samaritan initially witnessed the driver and vehicle attempting to cross the road and then enter Oso Creek. The good Samaritan then called 911 to report the incdent.

The Coast Guard launched an Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65C Dolphin helicopter and crew to assist in the ongoing search for the motorist and vehicle.
